Mukta Arts ventured into the regional space through its marathi film "Valu" which went on to be critically acclaimed winning several awards and proving a money spinner at the box office. The regional entertainment space is one that is growing rapidly and the company wants to be best positioned to take advantage of this opportunity. We are now further moving out in the regional space by producing a Bengali film with a noted film maker Rituporno Ghosh.
What are the disciplines that are taught at WWI?
Specialization includes Cinematography, Direction, Editing, Production, Sound Recording & Design, Screen writing, Acting and Animation. The institute has just started a TV broadcasting specialization to cater to the demands of the growing Television Industry. Whistling Woods International is currently in the process of building its multi location strategy both in India and overseas. The company sees several centers of excellence being established in film eco systems globally.
How does Mukta Arts plan to monetize the talent created at WWI?
Whistling Woods International is plugging a gap of trained talent in the industry and this will benefit the entire entertainment industry and not just Mukta Arts. We have engaged a number of the 1st graduate batch students and have begun work on the first production. Mukta Arts believes that the graduates Whistling Woods International produces will innovate the next generation of content across all mediums.
How has the industry reacted to WWI’s graduating batches?
So far the response has been encouraging. Most of the large entertainment corporates have seen the value in the trained talent that Whistling Woods International produces and have actively participated in our internship program and career fairs. From the first batch alone almost 75% of the students outside of acting were absorbed with employment in most of the industries’ blue chip companies.
