The Andhra Pradesh government has entered into an agreement with Subhash Ghai to set up a new Whistling Woods multimedia international campus and entertainment complex in 20 acres of land in Hyderabad. After the great success of Whistling Woods International film, TV and Media Arts Institute in Film City, Mumbai(WWI) which is governed by the chairmanship of Mr. Anand Mahindra and a governing council of many other leaders from various industries and the film business, Hyderabad will be the second campus within India, the Institute will open at. Mr. Subhash Ghai is the founder of Whistling Woods International which is promoted by Mukta Arts Ltd.
Former chief minister, the late Y.S. Reddy met Subhash Ghai in the month of July and encouraged him to set up a world class cinema and multimedia high-tech campus in Hyderabad. Thereafter the government machinery was put into speedy action to allot the 20 acres of land near the Jubilee Hills area to WWI and gave possession of land to Whistling Woods on 15th October. The late CM wanted the younger generation of Andhra to be professionally trained in all kinds of media arts and technology to compete with the international market and had said 'knowledge is much more important than a piece of land to groom the next generation. So I welcome Mr. Ghai's proposal to bring this new kind of educational campus with international standards, like WWI in Mumbai.' Today WWI is recognized for setting standards where as now in its fourth year of operations there are 20% foreign students from across the world amongst the Institute's350 students.
Subhash Ghai donated on behalf of Mukta Arts to the CM Shri K. Rosaiah for his CM Fund for flood relief the day of land possession saying 'Mukta Arts and Whistling Woods are grateful and are highly encouraged by the government and people of Andhra Pradesh to set up this world class complex like Whistling Woods here. We stand committed to create world class standards and infrastructure here.'
Whistling Woods has already opened its branch in Alicante in Spain with a joint venture with government of Valencia to educate western students at Whistling Woods at the studio and education complex Cidade De La Luz.
