




May 12th, 2010: Raghu Menon, Secretary Ministry of Information &
Broadcasting and ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry
of India) welcomed the media, foreign dignitaries, Indian delegates and
the Indian ambassador of France, Ranjan Mathai to the Indian Pavilion at
the 63rd international film festival at Cannes. The Pavilion hopes to
promote Indian films and culture at the Festival.
Mr. Menon promised to bring drastic changes in the Indian governments
approach of promoting Indian films and filmmakers effectively in the the
major film festivals around the world.
Indian actress Mallika Sherawat cut the ribbon and renowned
producer-director Subhash Ghai opened the book of Indian producers
created by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to commence the
Indian Pavilion at Cannes in 2010.
