Mumbai Cinematographers felicitate legend Cameraman
V. K. Murthy at Whistling Woods.


















It was an evening of felicitation to V. K. Murthy, the legend Cinematographer with great work behind, like Kaagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Bibi aur Ghulam, Chaudhavi Ka Chand and many others. An institution to inspire the latest generation of cinematographers today. Amongst the gathering of all veteran cinematographers and film industry starlets he spoke on Skype from Banglore in length of his experiences during his days in 50’s and 60’s and said “Cinematography is more of an art than a science”.
 

Felicitation was organized by WICA, veteran Cameraman Ashok Mehta, Rajan Kothari and Krishna Murthy alongwith the team of Whistling Woods where present veterans like  Peter Pereira, Ram Madkaikar, Anil Mitra, SL Sharma, Capt. Purush Baokar, SM Anwar, Allam Ram Mohan, SA Sayyad, Pravin Bhatt and Ishwar Bidri were also honoured. 

Speaking on the occasion, Subhash Ghai  thanked Mr. V. K. Murthy to give a different dimension to the art of  cinematography  and inspired new generation with such a brilliance . He reminded him that he worked under him as an actor in a film “Umang” under Gurudutt films and learnt a few secrets from him. Asha Parekh, who’s worked with Murthy in three films including Love in Tokyo and Ziddi, acknowledged Murthy’s contribution in making her look so beautiful. 

It was indeed an unforgettable evening for all those students of Whistling Woods too.
