Mukta Arts' film 'Valu' has been selected to be screened at the 64th Locarno International Film Festival

Mukta Arts Film 'Valu' directed by Umesh Kulkarni will be screened on 8th August at the L'Altra Sala at the 64th Locarno International Film Festival. Open Doors, the co-production lab of the Festival del film Locarno, is dedicating its upcoming edition to India. The film will be screened in the Open Doors Screenings, a section presenting an overview of key films from the chosen region and aimed at creating bridges with the general audience of the Festival. The film owned and released by Mukta was Mukta's first foray into regional films and was a big hit at the Box Office apart from getting wide critical acclaim. It was also Umesh Kulkarni's first film.
Throughout its 64 year history, the Festival del film Locarno has occupied a unique position in the landscape of the major film festivals. Every August, for eleven days the Swiss-Italian town of Locarno, right in the heart of Europe, becomes the world capital of auteur cinema.
