Grand Launch of WWI Inspirations at Mumbai









Whistling Woods International students kick start to the nationwide event in Mumbai, travelling across 15 cities in 45 days to educate the youth on career opportunities in the media and communication industry
25th November, 2011: Young, exuberant students of Whistling Woods International School of Communication division, are currently engrossed in shouldering a nationwide campaign- Inspiration that kick-started in Mumbai today. The seminar was held at St. Andrews College of Arts, Science and Commerce and was a great success amongst aspiring, young minds looking for an insight into the Media & Communication Industry.The seminar unleashed copious knowledge and awareness about the Media & Communication profession through the medium of a panel discussion amongst media stalwarts. The eminent panelists comprised of Subhash Ghai, Founder & Chairman, Whistling Woods International; Amer Jaleel, National Creative Head, Lowe India; Avinash Gowariker, Film Photographer; RJ Mantra, 93.5 Red FM and Brian Tellis, Chairman, Fountainhead Promotions and Events. They threw light on issues such as, the ever-changing media industry and the increasing need for innovative, energetic and quality media professionals.
Also present to grace the occasion were Meghna ghai Puri, President, WWI; Rahul Puri, Executive Director Mukta Arts and Prof. Ujjwal Chowdhury, Dean WWI School of Communication. Prof Ujjwal has been the former dean of Symbiosis.
Subhash Ghai, Founder & Chairman, Whistling Woods International said, "I'm extremely humbled by the initiative that my students have taken up. A Nationwide campaign in order to spread awareness amongst the youth is not even close to being easy. However, my students have taken it in their stride to be a part of such a great cause and I'm really proud of them. Media and Communication is a very upcoming field, and demands a great deal of innovative and quality professionals. The aim is to let the youth know about it and WWI is striving to do just that!"
Felicitated with the 'Young Communication Achiever' award were accomplished young personas that have made it big in the field of Media & Communication. Those felicitated were Faheem Ruhani, Editor, Stardust magazine; Swanand Marathe, Line Producer of the movie 'Paa' and Brijesh Jacob, Managing Partner at White Canvas & 22 Feet. Having set foot in the industry and making it big within a short span of time, they were astounding examples for all the budding aspirants present at the event.
The event later comprised of an entertaining evening consisting of various contests - the photography contest, poster-making contest, film-making contest and a dance contest. The theme for the varied contests was the 'I am ANNA' theme as the campaign also supports India's fight against corruption. The students exhibited abundant creativity and showcased tremendous talent throughout every contest.
The event was efficacious and extremely lucrative. Moreover, it was an impressive start to the nationwide series of multi city campaigns. Moving on to other cities, Navi Mumbai is all set to be the next one on the list hosting the campaign on the 26th November at Bunt centre in Jui nagar, Navi Mumbai, moving on to other cities like Indore, Pune, Goa, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Bangalore, Kolkata, Nagpur, Nashik, Chennai, Jaipur and Guwahati.
All in all, the students of WWI were excited and all set to inspire the youth of India through their unique initiative of 'Inspiration'.
