This week Subhash Ghai, Chairman & Managing Director – Mukta Arts Limited was invited by UOWD, having a 3500-strong student base, to address them on various aspects of the motion picture business. David Rome, President of UOWD, welcomed Mr. Subhash Ghai as a true achiever of Indian cinema and congratulated him for setting up Whistling Woods International (Mumbai) – a world class film institute and the first-of-its-kind ever set up by any producer!
Indian Consul General in Dubai - Sanjay Verma applauded the achievements of Mr. Ghai who responded to his queries of Indian cinema changing so quickly by leaning towards western culture and style. Subhash Ghai said, "Today's generation in India is connected to the global culture and does what attracts them the most. There is no question of right or wrong... Cinema has to change like a nation and society does, with new values and outlook."
There was also a Q&A session with the students, media, and parents on various aspects of cinema business. Subhash Ghai stated that the film business is a unique business in itself with no fixed parameters like other businesses, since there is a new story to narrate every Friday! Subhash Ghai was honored with a Trophy by the President of UOWD - David Rome, amongst cheers from excited students and media.
