Prospects of a niche film institute coming up in the city too are rosy. Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts Entertainment Ltd has its project to set up a film institute here under active consideration at the level of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Subhash Ghai himself had offered the proposal before the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA).
Subhash Ghai has proposed a film institute on 25-acre land. This is a separate venture from the film city, JDA Commissioner DB Gupta said, “The Board of Infrastructure Development and Investment (BIDI) was finalizing the proposal submitted by the company. The institute would be a sister concern of Whistling Woods International, the institute floated by Ghai in Mumbai,” Gupta added.
When Subhash Ghai was in Jaipur in September last, he told that he would give more exposure to his students from the institutes by offering them roles in films.
