VALU was screened at the American Family Cinema in the city of Livonia, near Detroit, Michigan state. The movie was attended by almost 200 Marathi people and all of them loved it. Right from the first punch, the audience burst into laughter and that continued throughout.

Mandar and Shubhangi Kulkarni of Preyas Arts went to Michigan from California especially to attend the first US show of VALU. After the screening, many people from the audience waited to share their feedback with Mandar.

Some highlights are:
"We have never seen such a refreshing movie in so many years..." "This movie took me directly to Kusawade"

"This is certainly Oscar-worthy film."

One young Marathi boy, around 14, expressed: "I am born and brought up here in the US but I could learn about the Indian village from this movie. It entertained me".

An old lady, more than 75, said: "This is like our own film. We come from a village in India and were a farmer family and we could relate to this environment very much."

Some of the attendees have lost touch with Marathi but they, too, understood and enjoyed VALU very well. This US premiere of VALU made a history as this is the first Marathi movie being screened for the American Marathi audience within 2 months after its release in India. The Marathi audience in America wants to see many more movies like VALU.
