Sony PIX to air Whistling Woods International student diploma film

 
 

Whistling Woods International (WWI), Asia's largest Film, Television, Animation and Media Arts institute today announced that a diploma film titled ‘Ansuni’ directed by Sunny Bhambhani, student of Direction has been selected by Sony PIX short film festival. The 20 minute film ‘Ansuni’ is one of the 4 movies that were selected by the short film festival. The film was aired on Sony Pix on January 21, 2009 at 7 pm. “Ansuni is all about the innocence of friendship being ruptured by love”, said Sunny Bhambhani, Director while describing the movie. The film along with all films of the short film festival will be showcased on www. pixtelevision.com from 28th Jan 2009.

Ansuni is the tale of friendship between two people Hamid, a kebab shop boy and Meera, a mirror work embroidery girl, who live in a small town in India that is gearing up for the town festival for which they are performing the Ras Leela. But when unrequited love settles into their 6 year friendship, it becomes difficult for these 2 people to maintain the basic essence of friendship which is in being there for the friend come what may even if you might be the cause for the pain in friendship. Will these 2 souls go through this tormenting journey of unrequited love and friendship together, or will they remain divided. John Lee, Dean WWI said, “What an honour! It’s fantastic to see our students receive such recognition and their work getting mainstream audiences. Sony PIX is truly doing a commendable job though the Short Film Festival and we are proud to be part of the festival”. The aim of this contest was to recognize the genre of Short Films and invite entries from all creative and budding film aspirants so that their films get a platform to air exclusively on PIX, along with some great prizes.
