Subhash Ghai Visits Infosys Bangalore Campus

Subhash Ghai, Chairman and Managing Director of Mukta Arts Ltd. visited the Bangalore Campus of Infosys Ltd on Sunday at the request of Mr. Mohandas Pai, former CFO of Infosys and current Director or Human Resources of the company.

Mr. Pai gave a 2 hour personal tour of the 80 acre campus to Mr. Ghai who was in Bangalore as Chief Guest for the ABAI (Association of Bangalore Animation Industry) Fest 2006 where Mr. Pai was also a Guest of Honour. Mr. Ghai was there to promote the animation course of his new Institute in Mumbai, Whistling Woods International and to support the animation industry in India by discussing the need for creative animators to forward IPR creation in India..

Mr. Ghai was hugely impressed with the vision of Infosys’ management and the facility itself which he expressed was ‘better than anything he had seen anywhere on the globe’.

The tour was followed by a discussion session between the two on the convergence of media and technology and how the Indian Entertainment Industry can learn from the experiences of building a global brand as the IT Industry has done.

Mr. Ghai then told Mr. Pai about his vision for Whistling Woods international, and Institute for Film, Television and Animation, which has recently opened in Film City, Mumbai. Mr. Pai agreed that structured training and skill development was the ideal way in which the media industry can leverage its global brand and begin to compete with the west. He lauded Mr. Ghai for his vision and foresight. In return, Mr. Ghai invited Mr. Pai to speak to the students at WWI and pass on his vision for India as a global super power.
