Govinda ends cold war with Subhash Ghai, ask him for a role to boost his sagging career.

Recently actor Govinda extended an olive branch to director Subhash Ghai. And the latter accepted it readily. Many years ago, the duo had a fall out when Govinda, then in the prime of his career, had haughtily turned down Ghai’s Taal in 1999 (the role was later played by Anil Kapoor) saying that he would only play lead roles.
Things have taken a U turn since then and the once in demand Govinda now actually went to Ghai to ask for the role which may boost his sagging career. “while campaigning for votes in elections, I would often go door to door asking for votes. That’s when I realised that if you ask for something, you don’t turn into a beggar. By asking you often get love in return. I went to Subhash Ghai with theis in mind. I know that he had offered me Taal and I had refused, but I guess I was immature at that time. However, now he has signed me for one of his forthcoming films. I am very happy and am looking fprward to working with him,” says Govinda.
Subhash Ghai says, “yes. It is true that Govinda came to me with a request for a role. Ups and downs are part of the part of the industry. Stars often disappear into oblivion here. When they are doing well, they act pricey. Some stars say that they have become choosy when the fact is that they do not get any offers. But that’s not the case with Govinda. I am very fond of him. I have worked with him in David Dhawan’s Ek Aur Ek Gyraah. David was going through a rough patch at that time and Govinda tried to bail him out. I am glad to work with him again.”
“When I launched Aapna Sapna Money Money and Good Boy Bad Boy, I was surprised when govinda came to the event and hugged me. I was overwhelmed at the gesture,” Ghai adds. Incidentally, Ghai launched seven films yesterday. He says, “I was supposed to start a film with Salman in August. However, owing to his hair problem and other things, it got delayed. Now, I will start shooting early next year. I will be working with A R Rahman after Taal. The film will also have two leading ladies and casting is still on. On the other hand, I will make a quick film called Black n White. Then there is a film called Bombay to Bangkok, with Nagesh Kukunoor, Cycle kick with shashi silgudia’s and one film each with Abbas Mustan, Anurag Basu and Anees Bazmee.”
