Director Nagesh Kukunoor and Shweta Prasad got Best Director and Best Supporting Actor respectively for Iqbal at the recently concluded Karachi Film Festival. Subhash Ghai had attended the opening of the festival where they showcased a retrospective of all his films. The films that were showcased as a part of this retrospective started with the screening of Iqbal as the opening film and then was followed by Khalnayak, Taal, Pardes and Kisna. Commenting on this rare honour bestowed upon his actors, Mr. Ghai said, “It is heartening to know that Pakistan is recognizing Indian Cinema and bringing people closer through cinema. I humbly accept their gracious to Indian Cinema with Iqbal”. That’s all? That’s a record. |
