Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology is a leading educational institute in Canada funded by the Government of Ontario. The college runs programmes in various specialisations including Animation, VFX, SFX and gaming.

Whistling Woods International promoted by Mukta Arts Limited and Film City is set to be Asia’s largest Film, Television, Animation & Media Arts studies Institute.  Seneca and Whistling Woods International have entered into an agreement to run specialized courses in the Art & Technique of film making in animation, including visual effects.  Under the agreement Seneca will provide its expertise and faculty to Whistling Woods International and also train Whistling Woods’ faculty to ensure high quality of education in animation and related topics.  The 2 year programme commencing in July 2006 at Whistling Woods International’s beautiful campus at Film City, Mumbai would lead to a diploma with credits to the students that would be transferable to Seneca college, Canada.  The students will also have an option to go to Seneca college, Canada for a third year specialisation in gaming, visual effects etc. 

Speaking on the occasion Subhash Ghai- Chairman Whistling Woods International said, “We are pleased that we are tying up with Seneca college which is highly reputed and won an Oscar this year for best animated short film “Ryan”. We look forward to our students at Whistling Woods International earning similar laurels in years to come.  Canada is well known for its expertise in animation and a lot of work of US studios is carried out there.  We believe that if Indian students learn the art of story telling through animation well India can emerge as a major hub to create intellectual properties in animation”.

Wayne Norrison, V.P. International & Business Development- Seneca, speaking on the occasion said that “Seneca is excited about being able to work with the largest film school in India and looks forward to many many years of co-operation not only in animation but other areas of media studies”.
 
The agreement was signed in the presence of Vice Consul (Education) -Annie Dubé of the Canadian Consulate in Mumbai, Ravi Gupta- Executive Director Whistling Woods International, Dr. Gulab Mewani, Education Advisor, Seneca and Ashish Kulkarni Head of Animation department of Whistling Woods International
