While talking about his struggle, Subhash Ghai says- When you start loving the struggle, the struggle will adopt you. When Subhash Ghai was asked about the struggle of his initial days, he said that if you have a dream to reach somewhere, it is very important to be ready to be let down and rejected.

In the initial days when he used to go round the studio, he was told “You can’t do anything” “Actor koi training se thodi banta hai” Not only that he was also asked to stand outside the studio. He further told during the conversation that he used to travel only by train and used to wait for hours to meet the producer. Subhash Ghai said that he struggled a lot but now he has no complaints against anyone.

Subhash Ghai had to face many difficulties during the film ‘Khalnayak’. People of many communities accused him of promoting terrorism and making films on terrorism. He told that many people used to say that they would not allow the release of the film.

Not only this, the song Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai was disputed even before the release of the film by giving it a vulgar name. Then Subhash Ghai got upset and explained with folded hands in front of 32 different organizations that it is neither the film nor the song as you are thinking.

To the people and organizations who are debating the films, he said that unless you see a film completely, how can you decide what is shown in this film, so watch the films first. Then ask questions if you have any problems. Finally, when the film was released, the film was praised everywhere.

But everyone wants our rival’s film to run but our film should run more. This thing is in everyone’s mind, it is also in my mind. Whenever someone did a great job, I would also feel jealous, I would think that I too could have done this job better.

The film Karz did not run even after two weeks of release

Talking about market pressure and ideas related to filmmaking, the director said – Market pressure has always been there. Then whether talking about the past or now. He told about the 1980 film Karz that the film did not run for two weeks after its release. Because of this there was a lot of pressure on him.

Talks were also made about the story of the film. Subhash Ghai told that his friends used to say that he had gone way ahead of that time and the film he made was 10-15 years ahead.

Started work as an actor

Subhash Ghai started his career as an actor by working in Aradhana in the year 1969 and Umang in the year 1970. In the year 1976, he made his directorial debut with Kalicharan which proved to be a hit at the box office. After this Subhash Ghai did not look back. He proved his mettle by making films like Karj, Ram-Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal.

In the year 1982, he also established Mukta Arts Pvt. Iqbal, released under his banner in 2005, also won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues.
